My daughter is a music teacher and part of The Piano Network facebook group. Members of that group recommended The PianoMan in Leeds. I contacted the shop by telephone and spoke to Oliver. It was obvious to me that this was a reputable company who wanted to meet my needs. Oliver could not have been more helpful and I was able to agree a purchase price and delivery arrangements with no difficulty whatsoever. I placed my order on 11th April and the piano was delivered at an agreed time and date on 17th April. Delivery was made by Pianospeed and their two members of staff assembled the piano in its final position with professionalism and care.

I also had an idea about which instruments I was interested in based on reading around. Mark took the time to ask me about my needs and listened to what I had to say. He then gave me his advice and based on that advice he saved me thousands of pounds. This is a decision that I would never have made without his advice and without being able to play the instrument in comfort in his shop.I am sure that if you want to buy a piano blind on the internet, you may be able to find cheaper but that would come without the advice, the support and the guidance that Mark gives. It's up to you, but in my opinion, if you want to invest in a piano, you should do it right. It's an instrument that you will be getting enjoyment from for a long time.I cannot comment about anyone elses' experience but I felt Mark was extremely knowledgeable and his advice honest... to the extent that it cost him a lot of money and saved me thousands.

I had been thinking for some months about upgrading our 'well-loved' piano to a newer model as my son had reached quite a good standard. His teacher was suggesting that, in order to progress further, we would need to invest in … More a more up to date one. After visiting several places in the Leeds city centre area and Bradford area I was becoming a bit disenchanted and overwhelmed with the differing amount of information and assistance I was being given bearing in mind I was working within a £3K - 4K budget. How hard could it be? Then, one night, whilst idly looking on-line at pianos, I came across The Pianoman's massively extensive website. If only I'd found this earlier. Clearly, if the website was anything to go by I was going to be impressed by the premises, so I ventured over to Easterly Rd near Oakwood in North Leeds. The usual parking problems associated with City Centre shopping did not apply here and I was able to park right outside the shop, recently extended, Mark told me, to house an extensive array of nice shiny Kawai grand pianos. Unfortunately, I was not going to buy one of those today but, in the future, who knows?..... Anyway, I explained to Mark what the teacher had suggested and he went to great lengths to explain the varying types, feel, and quality of the products without making me feel in the slightest bit inadequate, bearing in mind my knowledge of pianos is limited to knowing the keys at the bottom are a lot lower in sound than the ones at the top! My 15 year old son was a little too self conscious to experiment in front of him so Mark patiently showed us round all the pianos within our price range, playing beautifully for us, whilst also pointing out the subtle differences in tone and touch, etc. After much deliberation (but with no high pressure sales pitches from the proprietor!) we finally settled on a second hand Kawai which had only recently been brought in as a part exchange, apparently. The beauty of this meant that there was sufficient funds remaining in our budget to enable us to buy a small digital piano so that my son can practice in his room with headphones on as he gets older! The digital arrived in stock very quickly so both pianos were delivered to us within a week of purchase. Marks delivery guys made it look so easy as they had to up end the piano in the hall to get it in to the room - no problem, and they very kindly took the boxed digital upstairs and assembled it for me. All in all, a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.

I was definitely not disappointed with the service!
Later, when I wanted to upgrade to a better model, I returned to the Piano Man. Mark and the rest of his team (Oliver and David) once again excelled in customer service. I spent many hours over numerous days playing every piano in the shop (quite a lot!) and eventually (with their help and advice) I settled on the excellent Kawai K600. Including the trade-in on my old Kawai, and a generous price reduction on the K600, I got an overall very competitive deal, with which I am totally satisfied.
In summary, there is only one shop that I would recommend to anyone looking to buy a new or second-hand piano, and that is the Piano Man in Leeds!
