Music retailer PMT Placed into Administration

Music retailer PMT (Play Music Today) went into administration last week closing down all of its 11 U.K. stores with immediate effect. Those stores include Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Northampton, Norwich, Nottingham, Oxford and Romford, as well as their warehouse facility in Liverpool.

Like many of us in the industry we are sad to hear this news and especially for those in the local community here in Leeds.

For many musicians and local communities, these stores are more than just shops—they’re places where memories are made and passions are nurtured.

I personally have visited their Leeds store on numerous occasions and have great memories purchasing guitars (including my first guitar!) studio equipment, amps and accessories.
