Why we recommend the CLP-825:

The CLP-825 is an excellent choice for someone looking for their first serious digital piano.

Rather than filling the instrument with hundreds of features, Yamaha has concentrated on the things that matter most to a pianist: touch, tone and expression.

The GrandTouch-S keyboard provides the weighted resistance needed to develop proper piano technique, while the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand sounds give the player two very different piano characters to explore.

For a child beginning lessons, an adult learning for the first time or a returning player wanting a straightforward, quality instrument, the CLP-825 offers an excellent introduction to the Yamaha Clavinova range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Yamaha CLP-825 suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. The CLP-825 is particularly well suited to beginners because its fully weighted GrandTouch-S keyboard helps develop the finger strength and control required for acoustic piano playing.

It also offers enough quality for a developing pianist to enjoy for many years.

What is the difference between the CLP-825 and CLP-835?

The CLP-835 is the next step up and offers more instrument voices, additional rhythms and recording capabilities, greater control over the instrument and a more powerful speaker system.

For someone primarily wanting a quality piano for straightforward practice, however, the CLP-825 represents excellent value.

Can I use headphones?

Yes. The CLP-825 has two headphone connections and Yamaha’s binaural CFX sampling creates a spacious, natural piano experience when practising privately.

Can I connect my phone or tablet?

Yes. Bluetooth Audio allows music from a compatible smartphone or tablet to be played through the piano’s speakers, while Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app provides additional control and functionality.
